Writing Update

posted by voh 23:05, 4 July, 08

As far as stories go, I'm in content-lock mode, meaning that unless something leaks out, I'm not going to spend a lot of time writing the coming months. If I get awesome ideas, I'll jot 'm down in my moleskine for later, but I need to focus on getting my stories print-ready.

Now, what IS little old Robin working on?

Don't Forget the Future #2

Another update. After the last post I thought I was done writing, but I can't stop, for some reason. I just wanted to update the story list with the new stories, to keep y'all in the loop and whatnot.

So here's the updated list :)

The Doctor's Note.

About 8 months ago, I felt I needed to do something about my physical condition. I wanted to lose weight and train my joints - my knees in specific. Two of my friends had also been considering getting a subscription to a gym, and we decided to do it together. We went into it enthusiastically and planning to do some good, hard work there and get ourselves back into shape. It started off fairly well, but not long after my resolve waned and not long after disappeared.

The Motions we Know.

We all have our own traditions, little things we do our own way. They're hardly ever unique, but they sure feel that way. This is with anything we do - we all hold a pen differently, we all hold a camera differently (and oftentimes will choose our subject matter and methods of portraying them differently as well) and we sure as hell use computers in a way that's gotten to become 'our' way.

One thing I've found to work well is to create something. I don't care what it is. Sometimes it's drawing, sometimes I'll quietly write a song, sometimes I'll write something.

This time I made a stove.

Second book's name, 's what that title means. It's gonna be the first proper book, and I'm still, well, let's just say that how it'll be published is still well in the air. Regardless, here's the titles of the stories appearing in it so far.

Writing and what I'm doing about it.

posted by voh 12:23, 5 May, 08

I scanned in two recent stories I did (Notebook, March 21st and Tidy, April 3rd) and let Jaron read them. His comments were painfully positive, something I really needed. Especially since I haven't actually shared any of my last 5-6 stories with anyone yet.

Ode to Mussolini.

As those of you who are Dutch or know anything about the Netherlands (or you read Scruffbutt link) should know, yesterday was Queen's Day. Now, I don't really care about talking about that all that much, but there is one thing about this Queen's Day that's different from all before it.

I actually bought something at the flea market, and I'm loving it.
